quick and shallow read but im having so much fun. lack of ML-ism but not every nonfiction book can be "tea war: a history of capitalism in china & india" or "full surrogacy now". still, an interesting look into how interpersonal labor relations fit into, & have been shaped by, changes in institutional labor relations & political economies. marriage is so scary & important yay. marriage abolition now & forever

im trying to be objective abt the info & the implications of its delivery but well objectively this is too much usa for me in one dose to tolerate. so close to the end & then i can complain abt how the awesome comparison of 1950s denial abt domestic dissatisfaction and denial-based "containment policy toward the Soviet Union," is nearly friendless in its insightfulness. more of this plz !!!

i'm having so much fun but idk if this is doing what i want it to do...why r social & economic relations treated as separable (if interdependent). & then you have lines like this: "Marriage was still an authority relationship as much as a personal one." when subsequent passages abt christian rhetoric & social norm make it clear that the authority rship IS the personal one. i have more to say but. character limit lol
