And it wears an expression of wide eyed horror, as if shocked at the things being penetrated in the court room in the name of Justice. Below the tower, which depicts the figure of mercy, there is a carving of ravenous wolf, seemingly ready to tear apart the unfortunate accused on trial.

Never knew this fact about the Bombay High Court building. Very well articulated.

The Bombay high court building - At the base of the tower depicting justice on top, there is a carving of the face and front paws of a monkey. The monkey looks in the direction of the high ceilinged Central Court room located on the second floor of the building. ( it was the criminal court of sessions).

Golaknath case decided in 1967 heard by 11 judges was the first case where the counsel argued almost 10 proposition and Hon. Judges suggested the counsel to give all proposition in writing.

This marked the beginning of the era of written arguments in Supreme Court
