Oh my god this BOOOOK. Rebecca Ross has a way of telling a story that is enamoring.

God this book is such a tragedy because we know in the end, all these gods are dead or gone. It’s just a matter of when they become dead and gone.

Phelyra’s got balls, approaching Matilda after the stunt she pulled. I wonder what Bade and Adria’s fates were? Dead probably but Matilda said she’d know. But perhaps that is only a childish hope.

Damn I didnt expect that. Poor Zenia. I can see now how all the gods died, holy shit. The spiral begins here.

Damn I like Alva. It’s a real shame that Enva has to kill her to prevent her power-hungry husband dickhead Dacre from stealing all the gods power to be supreme. I hope we see more of Dacre and his… character, I suppose. Obviously ambition fuels him but that is seen in all the gods. Surely there is more to his desire to rule all?

It seems love will ultimately be the doom of the Skywards and Underlings. Though I think ambition is their ultimate demise. Just look at Dacre, the fuck.

So far it’s almost like a fable. I really like it. Seeing the game of gods and their lives unfolding through the young eyes of Matilda.

That’s a hell of an opener. Seeing the gods at work in this world is great. We heard tales in the Letters duology, of course, but even that was mostly tales of Enva and Dacre. Now we have others. I love lore.
