I believe that Jacob is scarred by what he saw, and that affects his view of the world. he now is scared by almost anything and anyone. Now, he believes. I wonder if him finally seeing the beast confirms what his grandfather said, though I wonder if it is a symbol of him being sad about his grandfather's death.

I found a character trait in Jacob. As he gets older, he believes less and less. I think this is because he is more mature than the average kid his age. He is in many advanced classes and is very smart. I think as he got older, and with the world as we know it today, he believed his grandfather less and less. I think this will affect him later on in the book.
