i am a bit of a masochist yeah but why am i doing this to myself

could’ve listened to 3 audiobooks in the time it takes to finish this one ugh

i figure i put this onto tbr because “magical realism” but this is not very magical. only in the vaguest sense. the main problem is that it’s BORING.

the only thing that was interesting before was the stuff about some prof with a theory of increasingly bigger worlds as you move inwards. sigh.

also there’s a channeling thing happening here but it’s not treated with any weight it just happens casually in the background.

books where not a lot happens can be fine… when the prose is really good (i can’t judge in this case because the narration is uninspiring) or when the characters are really interesting or endearing or at least funny. there is NONE OF THAT HERE!!!!!!
