and suddenly the very cheesy writing style came back…

“People will believe anything if it means they can go on with their lives and not have to think too hard about it.”

the solving of the mystery part is fast paced and very intriguing

“We’re not going to wait for John Hobbes to take his last victim. We’re taking the fight to him. We’re going to Knowles’ End.”

“At the crossroads, you will have a choice, brother. Careful of the one who works with both hands. Don’t let the eye see you….”

“The wrong person might find out. Someone you didn’t even know was dangerous.”

dont want to continue the book but want to know how the plot goes

i understand the author is trying to depict the protagonist but she is just so irresponsible selfish naive and not likeable

Some mornings, she’d wake and vow, Today, I will get it right. I won’t lose my temper or make unkind remarks. I won’t go too far with a joke and feel the room go quiet with disapproval.

But what was the point of living so quietly you made no noise at all?
