Nadia and Arkady’s love story was so sweet. Until this point, I found Arkady to be a a selfish irritating anarchist who just wanted to disrupt the social fabric of this new society. And he still may be that. But through Nadia’s eyes, through the sieve of her love for him, I must admit he’s kind of charming…love when authors can’t write POV this well.

Adore the way Robinson plays with the unreliable narrator. When you’re in a character’s head what they do seems correct/normal. When you see them through the eyes of someone else, suddenly they’re fucking crazy and irritating—but even that may be POV bias. Masterful

Several false starts and a few years later, I’m finally here. What I thought would be a book about the colonization of mars, is that, but it’s more so about the clashing ideologies and psychologies of those who embark on that mission. Really love the political maneuvering and games being played here…
