I just...reallllyyyy don't like this exchange between Kaladin and Shallan. Adolin insults him; he insults him back. Then Shallan goes on this rant about how DARE Kaladin do that. Like I get Adolin's trying but he still insulted him first?? Shallan going 'you deserved it because you're scowly and Adolin's charming' is just like?? Go away boot-thief.

Still bewildered by the 'she smiled anyway' thing. Kaladin, considering Shallan barely getting by via total repression, I'm not sure this is something you should look up to. And this is coming from a repressed British person.

It's good to be reminded how utterly terrifying Szeth seems to outsiders. Also it's amazing Kaladin didn't get arrested for being so utterly suspicious here.
