Damn near cried like a baby when Deets died

Newt is a very relatable character for me. I can remember being a young boy looking up to the older men around me and wanting to be like them. And then all of a sudden, you get to become part of the team. You get to learn about yourself in ways you didn’t know existed.

Jake Spoon: great introduction to the book, seems like he will be a cool cowboy. You quickly find out how selfish he is and he only cares about himself.

Elmira might be the only character worse than Jake Spoon.

Amazing book. Gus McRae is an unreal character
