The new editor attempting to reshape her light novel to a literary work of art, while shifting the main character status from the woman to the man was a perfect addition to the theme and motif.

I’m enjoying the epistolary interludes where Reta gives too much personal information to authors, publishers, etc as she tries to understand Norah’s break in character. I especially appreciate how her name and the name of her home is evolving in each to show the evolution of her understanding and personality.

Is this meant to be a real letter? A writing exercise? She changes her name after her daughter’s comment on it and lists her fictional city as her place of residence.

Lovely chapter showing similar mindsets and curiosities as children (Reta and Norah) and the two extremes this can lead to: the avoidance of deep feelings and confusion versus total immersion in intensity and longing.

Excellent recreation of an overly self-important and fraudulently “deep” coffee shop conversation between women who are blind to themselves and their insular, privileged lives.
