I barely understand what's going on in this scene on Dellalt or whatever, but I also don't really care. Daley sure likes writing about primitive or low tech planets, huh. It's a weird thing to keep doing more than once in Star Wars.

So the Corellian Bloodstripe lore started all the way back here, huh. Didn't know that. I still think that's one of the funniest bits of trivia about the EU, because it's easy to communicate it to someone who has no idea what you're talking about. 'You know those red stripes Han has on his pants in ANH? Yeah, they fucking wrote lore about those.' Lmao

Earlier, Chewie was felled in melee combat by one big dude. But now, he can fight and defeat an entire gang of regular-sized humanoids all by himself without even having to try that hard. Seems very inconsistent.

'Han disliked complications and subterfuge' is basically just rephrasing his EpIV quote 'I prefer a straight fight to all this sneaking around.'

I'm glad that referring to Chewbacca as 'the Wook' didn't catch on in the EU. It sounds slur-adjacent. Also, this is coming from a character who knows Chewie, so he's just being an asshole. Imagine referring to someone you know IRL purely by their race. It's fucked up, lol. I know this was published in 1980, so it was a different time, but come on now.

Chewie pretending to be the captain to attract a couple of college girls is funny and all, but the problem is, Crispin very deliberately had Chewie get married to Mallatobuck before these books take place. And it's only been a few months since then in the timeline. So... uh... what the fuck, Chewie? Already cheating? To be clear, this is not Daley's fault, since he wrote this in 1980. It's Crispin's shitty writing.

Hmm, I don't remember this Badure/Trooper guy, who is set up to have history with Han. I was thinking that Crispin not including him seemed like a mistake. But according to Wookieepedia, he was mentioned in The Hutt Gambit.

I'm a bit surprised that this book is mentioning the Empire as much as it is. I read that the reason this trilogy was set in the Corporate Sector was because Daley was forbidden from writing about pretty much anything concerning the movies, so he created a setting that was completely removed from everything for safety.

Alrighty. Last one of these. The gap between the interludes for books 2 and 3 in Rebel Dawn was shorter than I expected it to be. Not looking forward to having to finish that. But, in the meantime, I get to read this. By this point, it's a pretty safe bet that I know what to expect. Hoping to enjoy it as much as the others.
