He is talking about all of the violence he was involved with and how he tried to get out of it but he still ended up getting shot. Later we can look at how this violence impacted his music.

I really enjoyed the last few pages because he expressed his happines in getting new instruments and turntables. I could really feel his joy and it mde me feel happy.

The first chapter starts off with him talking about all the songs he has written about rain. Then he goes on to talk about how he grew up in virginia where he was surrounded by water. His mother and father were very supportive of his early love for music, and he believes that is what made him so successful. So far I like it, but the way it is written is somewhat choppy.
