Four years long engagement and they're not married yet? Nah, they're putting it off 'cause they don't want to actually get married. They realised they were infatuated, and not in love. That's my prediction. Did they even have one meaningful conversation in the whole book? I can't think of any. Their whole relationship was based on lust-driven attraction and convenience. Plus miscommunication.

I cannot stand Esme, and if I don't like one of the characters in a romance... yikes. It makes me think the other person deserves better. She lied about her job (which I could forgive if it was JUST that, but no), and has not told Khai that she has a LITERAL DAUGHTER IN VIETNAM. Ntm, what just happened, where he asked her if she was mad at him, and she decided the silent treatment was better than COMMUNICATING.
