I can't help but laugh at that. At his sense of humor. The fact it's still intact. We really are the same kind of crazy. Maybe that's why we've made it this far.

"I'm glad that it's you and me.
Here. Together. I hate that this is happening, obviously, but since it is... I'm glad you're here. That you're with me."

"Is that a Leading Lady or Final Girl way of thinking?" Maybe I shouldn't have told him my theory, not when our lives depend on it being correct, but I can't deny that the thrill of hearing him speak my language hasn't worn off.

EXCUSE ME??? A guy who speaks MY language??? Uhm— YES, PLEASE!!!

He just grabs my hand and tilts his head back against the wall, like it's the thousandth time he's done it, like this kind of touch is a normal part of our interactions, and the idea it could be, one day, makes warmth bloom in my chest.

If he can't get in, he's got to give up and move on, right? You haven't got a slasher if there isn't any slashing. You haven't got a rom-com if the love interest isn't responding to the romancing.

Does he have his own Laurie? Does he have someone who would stay by his side and make him laugh or give him a brief moment of relief in this hellhole of a situation if they had come with him tonight?

Because we can't be everything. No one can. And that's the difference between real life and movies. Anyone can pretend to be perfect for the ninety-minute run time. The story plays out a lot differently after the credits roll. Wes seems to realize this, too.

"What if he pursued those women and then killed them when they couldn't live up to his expectations? What if he's looking for 'the One'?"
