There's a map of the train route through Australia - but it has none of the intricacy of the map in, say, The Black Swan Mystery or some of Freeman Wills Crofts' mysteries. So I think seeing something significant on the route map is less important than looking at the map of the train's interior from time to time. We'll see.

Most of the Crime & Mystery novels set on trains I have read were over the last few years - and many of those were really impressive, especially The Sleeping Car Murders by Sebastien Japrisot. Now, my first impression of this one is that it will be very enjoyable…but I will say the sense of humour on display so far is that generic, safe, Cute Not Brilliant style I’ve encountered in so many light Mystery novels.
