For some reason I expected more from this book, the ending was a bit rushed and predictable in my opinion and I wished they played more into the romance side of this book. I can imagine how scandalous this book must’ve been back in 1872. Overall, quick and easy read even though there were a lot of words I had to google the meaning of, but that’s expected seeing how old this text is. 🦇
