These two went from first kiss to having a baby in just a few months. At the same time Ellis’ mum dies and he has to care for his siblings who are the same age as Wren. It’s framed as some kind of formative love story but the timeline just doesn’t work. It’s too compressed and every time Wren mentions their ages now or then, it pulls me completely out of the story.
