coming the end of things here - a lot of the questions I have were answered but I wasn’t fully satisfied with the answers I received . I am however falling in love with Caz’s and Salem’s love, it’s beautiful and I’m sad and excited to be finishing their story. but I still have so many questions about the cults/secret societies and how they operate and the full extended explanation of the murders they did .

After finally knowing Caz’s full backstory.. it’s so heartbreaking. In a way they took over the lives of their siblings without even knowing since coming to Mortimer University. I’m sad that this book is almost over, and the quotes before each chapter has sparked my love for classic lit again & gothic romance!

YESSSSSS !!! He has claimed her and may they be damned together. Fall into the fire together. Fall in love together! My war is over, I couldn’t wait for them to finally close this cat and mouse game. The cat finally has the mouse in his grasp and he’s not letting go !

All the tension, fights, and doubts leading up to this moment. Them bonding and seeing one another without the world also watching them. In their own space, I’ve put the pieces together long ago and I’m deeply saddened for Caz’s loss as well. But it just pushes the notion that they’d be perfect together and for one another. Maybe they be damned to each other. Almost at part 3 kinda sad it’s almost over :/

What can I say ? Other than I’m happy Caz came or save her. Salem has to get some good nights rest before she seriously lands herself in more danger than she’s already in.

The fact that everyone who looks into the special group ‘Mortemia’ and it’s always a suicide is VERY suspicious and no one actually looking into it is insane. Yes secret society and things but how deep does this rabbit hole go? Is Caz the boy Salem met in the backyard all those years ago? Being in the middle of the book is so fascinating but it equally peaks my curiosity. I don’t want to stop reading.

on the second half of this book and man.. I relate to Salem entirely. down to the family issues (minus the dead sibling) not caring about society, loving true crime and forensics. I love her and as much as she is irritating right now by not wanting to speak to Caz I get it. she’s triggered and isn’t in the right mental space to talk. I love her. I love this book. Runyx has become my 2nd fave dark romance author.
