This guy named Robert is on a ship headed to the north pole to explore and I guess experience something worth talking about. He writes long letters to his sister about being lonely for a friend and if my brother ever wrote me letters like that I’d be like, “Dude, you okay?”

Ch8: I did not see that coming. Gives new meaning to the swift hand of justice as they waited exactly one day after Justine’s verdict to make sure she was out of the picture.
Ch9: Victor is v sad because he is guilty. Went to the Alps, but mountains didn’t take away his guilt so he’s still in a bad way. Prob shouldn’t have built a monster.

Ch7: If your younger brother is k!lled in a town that is a whole train ride away, why on earth would you just assume that the monster you made months and months ago is absolutely responsible when the police have a whole suspect with evidence and who, I might add, is local and lives in your family’s house?
Touch some grass, dude. You’re in too deep.

Maybe it’s just me, but if you couldn’t create a monster without immediately having a mental breakdown, then maybe you shouldn’t have created a monster.

Ch 3: His mom’s deathbed wish is that he marries his sister. (I beg your finest pardon, madam.) Mom dies and he goes off to college where a chemistry lecture convinces him he can play God. Probably should have taken up cricket or the piano or something instead.

Victor feels some kind of way about Elizabeth. “She shall be mine alone until death” — may I again remind you, brothers don’t talk like this.
They grow up together and she’s wonderful and he’s weird and obsessed with scientific methods that have proven to be false. You can see him losing his grip on reality already because he gets v into math. He’s sixteen.

Robert sees this freaky creature on a dog sled and the crew is like hmmm, what was that, but then a deranged man is found and Rob takes him in to get his life story bc remember he wants a friend. This guy, Victor, seems v upset and horrified by something. Starts telling Rob his life story and his parents’ awkward adoption/abduction of his sister Elizabeth.
