Me: It’s a gritty dark political romantasy series, it’s supposed to be darker than my middle grade summer book I wrote when I was eleven

Lol 😆 my writing got prettttty dark a few years ago when I was going through issues with my mental health. Thankfully I'm in a much better place now, though I wouldn't exactly call war stories lighthearted 😂Tbh tho, I was never the roses-and-rainbows type of writer. My characters were always in mortal peril, even when I was 5. 🤣 Thank goodness my parents never knew 🫣

My writing used to be roses and rainbows only because I was heavily influenced by Birdsall and Yan Glaser as those were my favorite books when I was little, so my first book was heavily inspired by those. And then an Emily Windsnap-eseque adventure as that was my next favorite series LOL

They never got very far though. 😆
