I'm so confused how she fucked up and yet after one meeting, they're all acting like she's party of the family. I appreciate that this isn't the typical "You're not good enough for our family" trope, but the way they openly adore her is so unrealistic, while Liam is getting more disappointing. That whole party should be edited out. It's out of character and doesn't serve the overall narrative.

I can't believe I've made it this far! So much.repetition! I'm wondering as it was edited how shame managed to miss repeating the same lines 3 times in one chapter! Beyond all that, the New Year's Eve party was bizarre and Liam's behavior was completely out of character. Some one as controlling and meticulous as him would never just leave his obsession to fend for themselves. That whole part is shitty.

If Liam says "This is Sparta!" one more time 🙄 Really don't love this softer Liam who negotiates with Caroline and lets her feel like she has control and can make demands. That's not what the tone of this book is.

Ugggh, I can't understand her perspective. She seems bitter just to be bitter at this point and that's kind of annoying. She's not at all grateful for what he's doing for her because she's so focused on the power balance between them.

Okay, I'm so confused, she's taking Adderall and drinking...wine? What? Those things are opposites of each other and no one would drink to help them focus...none of this has to do with her relationship with Liam, with or without him she'd have this problem, I'm so confused why so much of the book is devoted to this. So much of this story is repetitive and needs edited out.

Everyone keeps talking about her breaking and I still am not seeing what's going to make her break...her school work? If that's the case, she would have broken anyways...I don't understand the big deal. He doesn't do anything particularly dastardly, I don't understand why she's so frazzled. A LOT of tell and no show.

This has all the pieces to be good, but part of the problem is the author keeps TELLING us how evil the MMC is and how trapped the h feels and all the control he has, but...really, other than her not consenting...he hasn't done anything terrible. He's a handsome golden boy who buys her lots of pretty stuff and is trying to give her confidence...most of the fear she has is hard to understand.
