The whole pages on the value of bird shit in the 1800s (???) after the whole "we forcibly removed the people that were here and knew how the land worked bc we're greedy" stage of U.S. history is interesting...maybe you wouldn't have had to export so much bird shit from Peru (not yours!!!) if you could perhaps not be assholes and coexist with people that knew how to farm the land you stole.

The fact that in the 1940s "you were more likely to be colonized than to be Black" if you said you're from the U.S./part of the U.S. is insane. At this time millions were spread out over territories in Guam, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Midway Islands, and Hawaii (wasn't even a state yet). Insane.

I'm just at the introduction and yet the Philippines already got mentioned in probably the most truthful light that I've heard with regard to its relationship with the U.S., and I honestly wish so many Filipinos today could learn and realize the U.S. is nothing to be idolized and that they essentially always left us and will always leave us in the dirt if it benefits them more.
