Love this chapter (23)

Pg 88. “Others said of me, “look how changed this man is, he no longer sees himself!” All of this chapter is wonderful. I love the way he depicts the scene after Beatrice’s dad’s death. The way he feels and what he says. The sonnets? Fabulous.

Pg 86. “ but I do not describe hours this smile of hers works in the hearts of others, for human memory cannot fully comprehend either that smile or its effects.”

Pg 77. Last two sentences. “But thinking this over, I felt I was taking on a theme too lofty for me, one that made me afraid to begin. So I lingered for many days in this state of wanting to write, but in fear of beginning”.
