A new author for me. This is special so far. I loved Draconus Memora by Anthony Ryan, and I get some similar vibes. The ideas in this series are fresh and intriguing. The writing is tight; there's not a lot of extraneous fluff, however there's plenty of description and introspection to flesh out the world and the characters. I have a feeling this is beginning of something truly unique.
