Nate's old college shut down their football program and inducted him into their alumni hall of fame. He talks about how that school gave him the opportunity to play college football and help him make it to the NFL. Nate and his other college friends try to convince the school to bring back football. The author is good at intertwining various moments in his life together.

Nate is getting surgery on his ankle and talking to one of his former team doctors about pain killers. It is really interesting and the doctor talks about how some of the drugs players take regularly are unsafe for humans and can further cause brain damage besides head to head contact. Nate does a good job sharing his perspective and the perspective of others when it comes to politics in football.

The book has a somewhat slow start but it has some humor. I am a fan of the author and I like his writing style so I still enjoy the book so far. He has not really gone in depth into his life post football, but it is clear it has been a big adjustment for him.
