I know this is Hugo’s story of Man v. Nature but there’s not enough Man in this section. I can only read so much about wind rocks sea formations waves etc. 😂

Penny -Thecatladybooknook 👀 oh my..... I'll need to take this off my list then if YOU can't deal with the amount of nature writing. 😅

Elizabeth 😂😂 It’s more like science writing. I don’t care how the wind actually does what it does! 😜 To be fair, it’s a small portion of the book so far…I hope!

message 3: by Dina (new)

Dina Oh dear. It's Hugo being Hugo again?

LOL, this is the first book I've read of his! But I've heard lots about the sewers in Les Mis...

N Always here to provide brilliant commentary: at first I read "The Toilets of the Sea"

Elizabeth 🤣🤣 Well I wouldn’t put it past Hugo! 😏

message 7: by Jen (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jen I read Toilers of the Sea last summer and felt the same way!
I’m married to a civil engineer and my dad is a civil engineer - so I did share the sewer information with them when I read Les Miserables. They are the correct audience for it, I think!🤔

Elizabeth 😂 I love that! Glad I’m not the only one. 😅
