Extremely terrifying and compelling case for midwifery!
Also generally an insanely true argument about why we don't have enough maternity leave and child care (spoiler it's American patriarchy).
Also has a book ever been more relevant in light of Dolores Huertas' recently shared story!!

Shocking similarities between my childhood and Tubbs! International travel and an almost long distance relationship with your "homeland". Similarly I heard so much about America (starry eyed and deep disgust) while being raised abroad.
I also trace my ability to see American systems and inequalities in the necessity of understanding a new culture and country when moving abroad.

"We know better than to repeat our masculine systems"
John Adams to Abigail Adams' request to remember women when founding the country.
Eeek
I didn't know Thomas Jefferson was concerned about French women one day ruling France. Also Thomas Jeffersons' strict rules for his daughters...
Good reminder that if the Founding Fathers lived today exactly as they were... We would not care for them at all.
