OK I take back my previous statement, I see now how burning joss paper for her sister would have been futile but I will not post spoilers here.

I’m having trouble sympathizing with Cora, because at the FIRST SIGN of anything unexplained or potentially supernatural I would just burn the joss paper to appease hungry ghosts like her aunt and Yifei told her to do, why doesn’t she do that? It seems like such a simple thing to do. I don’t understand her
