It seems like constantly this happens: Ike kicks off a paragraph saying something, then next sentence, same paragraph, Buddy Lee reacts and does a thing; next paragraph is Buddy Lee uttering his dialogue, followed by a sentence or two of Ike doing a thing; third paragraph Ike says and does stuff. No reason these paragraphs can’t be more cleanly consolidated. Otherwise, I am very into this book.

UGH, I hate it when paragraphs aren't well consolidated. I always tell kids, as a general rule, it is good to start a new paragraph when a different character is speaking or thinking. Obviously there is more to good paragraph structure/consolidation than that, but it’s good basic ground rules. SO I HATE IT that this book isn’t better edited in that regard.
