Update; this book is very symbolism heavy and very very thought out, with little nooks and crannies and trinkets and treasures. I think I get it, and am looking forward to the rest of the book.

I'm waiting for it to get good, I think it will, but right now it's pretty boring. The writing style is not my favourite, it's got this drawn out longing feeling, very "woe is me" or a sense of melancholia in the tone of the writing. I figure that this tone might serve a purpose later on in the book.
