Trying hard to think about the themes of the novel, but it's not working as social commentary or satire.
The concept of faking a pregnancy to generate connection and/or get out of menial invisible labor in the workplace feels like a slap in the face. As a mom of two, nothing isolated me more than becoming a mom, and invisible labor is an everyday reality.

I feel like the only one who didn't appreciate this one, and since I'm pretty sure I'm not the center of the universe, I'm forced to conclude I'm the problem.
