Uncle Jack just explained why racism in the South needs to stick around for a little longer due to people having a hard time moving on. I understand why people want it they don’t wish to be the lowest man on the pole but was this how people really thought. Jean Louise is in shambles over this.

So we get to the problem about how everything is changing and her perspectives on the people around her are changing due to the social issues in the South. She goes to the people who raised her and deals with her emotions only for them to get upset again.

So the problem has not been introduced so don’t understand the conflict other than the one that is happening in the time period of the civil rights movement. We see that Jean Louise doesn’t want any to change but much has already changed in her life. Such as WWII and moving to NYC. I wish we knew what her job was?

Spoilers: So Jen Finch dies and now there is this boy Henry who “dates” Scout or Jean Louise while she is in town for 2 weeks. Atticus at 72 is still working and his sister Alexandria lives with him full time.
