My mind starts to melt every time they word vomit about the upcoming war. She keeps throwing names of people and towns around but all I want is something to happen, not going in circles waiting for it to happen. Like the meeting with the generals that took like 100 pages and nothing important was discussed. Only interesting thing was learning what tawny was the the cereens

The first look at jadis was a little underwhelming. All that power and they only used half a chapter on her? And basically only held her for what seamed like a minute. It felt like it was going to be something and then it was nothing and they left. Poor reaver and jadis

More talking that was boring and almost pointless. Only thing that was exciting was Kieran. And Cas gets more annoying with how clingy and obsessive he is.

Honestly so lost in this book. Everything is “bone and ash” or “bone and blood”. Too much talking. What action that happens so far was either too weird or just didn’t fit the story line. Trying to push through this beast with a chapter a night, but the struggle is real. Kinda want to buy the audio book so I can listen to it at 3x

Spoilers ahead.
But this took a weird turn. Poppy went to modern times, New York specifically cause it talks about the Statue of Liberty. That was a weird jump that I didn’t care for. So far this books has bee ⭐️⭐️ tops. Forcing myself to keep reading just cause I’ve already read all the other books and just want to know how it all ends with kolis

This book is so long and after 80 pages it’s already dragging. Everything feels forced and the characters feel very stilted. Need to get through this book to read the last one when it comes out but it’s been a struggle to pick it up after I couldn’t wait for it to come out. So far, very disappointed.
