Pacing great. Story heavy yes. There’s a lot of nuance with Finlay’s confidence but we get a highlight on Nick’s trouble with how he lacks information as he can’t finish his job. Finlay is getting to cover her tracks while trying to outpace Nick. Charlie wants to highlight Joey’s suspicious attitude and Finlay needs to realize Charlie could be the main villain as he could be misleading-underdeveloped trope

Finlay’s story is fun and the pacing is great. I truly enjoy the way that Vero and Finlay think in sequential ways and try to use the resources. It’s really interesting that whenever Finlay needs information she happens to be there inconspicuously. The thematics are trust your close friends. The plot is getting yikes as there’s a mysterious enemies. It’s adult heavy with concepts so I find it embraces that.

This book explores the idea of Finlay wanted to make a judgment calls that are more precise or truly outlandish.The title Jumps The Gun is showing how the stakes are higher, the mind games, the social standing,the favoritism, the proving of puzzles.I truly enjoy hearing the conversation of Finlay & Officer Wade (who went undercover). Exploration of the facets of police work, their roles; the skill sets-cool vignettes

Finlay shines in this book. I personally found the book very interesting, enjoyable, unique, and I think the mystery is more complicated & complex. Finlay’s narration is cinematic or I am hooked to each sentence cause it’s crafted to perfection. I can say the individual moments with Nick were lovely and I feel the whiplash if deciding whether Joey or Wade are the bad guys. Vero is sort of sidelined here.

Pacing is great.The plot is engaging.The way that Finlay learns about the nuanced past of police officers.I wonder if Finlay has this untapped potential to be a police officer.Finlay is trying to maintain a professional writing timeline but honestly has other priorities. I appreciate this book for going deep into police training. I read a certain part and felt the words get muffled a bit-cool!The twists are great.

I appreciate Nick’s responsibility to be a mentor.He’s super supportive of helping other recruits. Resilient Nick has AURA.We meet Charlie who’s scars & has to retire early. We meet podcasters who want to document everything and get a BTS look. Mind you, Finlay is freaking out she has two priorities!& mind you even- she has freedom. Freedom of no kids or ex husband or anything! Pacing and visualization perfect

Javi’s arc is elaborated and things are investigated within their relationship with Vero. He’s like coming to the realizations. The way that Javi has that ____ Was it a joke? Adult jokes! The way that Finlay recognizes someone following them. It’s a red herring but it shows how Vero is on edge. It’s not good, let’s say.

Jumps the gun. I get it now. The police academy. I enjoyed the bar scene a lot. It had a lot of great comedy, Vero; got so excited but Finlay is like competing with two identities and she’s like I have less control but more control on the source of potential sources. It also makes her more questionable motives. The comedy is very adult ish. It also shows how gutsy or how Finlay is striding to make her path.

Finlay deliberates. She actually thinks things through. She consults Vero. Vero has a plan. The way that this scene brings a catalyst of unexpected twists and progresses he plot forward and adds the right amount of gravitas and energy. It’s a total action and mystery scene. Feliks is definitely Kingpin type of stuff. The moral compass of Finlay is interesting discussion. Writing improved by scene due to last book

Tonally the book paces is fast.Things are interesting.The best part of this series id the opening hook and scene. Wow! We explore how this book focuses on Vero more. On how Steven wants Finlay more than anything. The irony/foreshadowing of how Finlay lets Steven have Delia and Zach over for a week is interesting. I find the idea that Finlay needs to rework stuff. Vero is worried that Finlay convinced by Steven!
