I wonder if the 'Art Gallery' chapter was where Danielewski started writing this book. It is my favourite chapter so far and... just the idea of our stories and, by extension, history itself, being curated, displayed and pondered over is done so so well and is very thought provoking.

The character work shines in a way only a 1232 page book can make characters shine. Loving it.

Incredible journey so far that takes it's time and yet hasn't overstayed it's welcome yet. I already know I'm going to be rereading this and I'm excited to see how the back half of the novel goes.

I am LOVING this book, but I requires a bit of patience. The story builds and builds and lingers on the lives of characters, which is, hopefully, setting the groundwork for something incredible. I'm also enjoying the 'supernatural' elements... Which I'm Not sure are supernatural or not, making it a fun mystery to explore in the background.
