This introduction is very surprising. From reading a little bit of Rent Girl I thought Michelle Tea was the kind of irritatingly sex-positive white lesbian I avoid reading about, but we are actually incredibly similar. I hate that I might have to read Valencia now.

I may not believe in this, but at least I get it. People's proud condescension of Solanas is more unbecoming than Solanas' insanity. I've blocked a good 10 people reading through these idiotic reviews. And the wider internet is even more of a cesspool.
So glad that my friends who have read this rated it highly or not at all. I know I'm in good company with you guys.

I read valencia a while ago and liked it for being weird (kinda odd people and situations). Michelle was a bit annoying at times i think but the book was interesting to me even though honestly i don’t remember a lot from it

I myself am annoying so I can't really use that charge to discredit her haha. My previous impression of her was that she was a blinkered 'everything is fun and I don't think of anything else but my own demographic' kind of person. A privileged person who always thinks they're the most oppressed in the room ig.
