“I am no one’s lord. Least of all yours, colleen.”
Colleen. Again, I almost laughed. That he should call me girl, when all my life I had wished to be nothing more and nothing less?
It was a name that pleased me about as well as my lord pleased him.
“I thought you were tánaiste of your Sept?”
“Your mistake, to think of me at all.”
Not a lot of interactions, but meaningful ones haha

“A service was offered. A service was accepted.” Irian’s smile was a scythe. “You should be more careful, —few things in the Folk realms are ever given freely.”
I fought to calm my temper. “Then let me offer you a bargain.”
“Surely you have been warned not to make bargains with the Folk.” His smile grew even sharper. “I might steal your shadow. Devour your fondest memories. Keep you trapped in my fortress forever.”

If I don’t know who I am, I can be anybody. I like to pretend I’m the long-lost daughter of foreign royalty instead of the youngest, ugliest, and most annoying of twelve unrelated sisters.”
“You’re hardly ugly.”
“But you agree I’m annoying.” Chandi twinkled.
“Hard to tell.” I shrugged, hiding a smile. “You do talk a lot.”

"His striking features were carved in clean, austere lines—chiseled cheekbones, stark frowning brows, a hard sculpted jaw. The only soft thing about him was the bow of his incongruously sensuous mouth"
Finally met the future love interest ?? she's still hung up on the prince though.. but I know the dark haired one is going to be the love interest lol

“State your business, ghillie.” The menace in his voice raised the hairs on my arms. “Then begone.”
“I’m no ghillie,” I said clearly and pleasantly. “Although I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have birch bark for skin and moss for hair.”
His silence was sharp.
He moved closer, although neither bow nor arrow dropped. He was without question a warrior—I knew the look of a man acquainted with violence.

You are a weapon, little witch. You were made to hurt. And men only know how to use weapons—they do not know how to love them.”
“Are you sure? I’ve certainly known men who were a little too fond of polishing their swords.” I painted honey over my grimace and didn’t care if it looked like a smile. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to pack."

They had stolen a princess and left me. She was valuable—I was something they bartered away without care and without my consent. I hated them for it—hated them almost as much as I adored the queen who gave me a home, raised me with a purpose, loved me as she would her own daughter.
She could have easily executed me. And not even I could have blamed her if she had.
Ooh sounds like a lot to unpack here
