Uncle Pio and Camila are in a complicated relationship. Camila is trying for perfection in her acting, and she will never attain it, whole Uncle Pio watches her. She falls in love with the viceroy and she is still not pleased and continues to have affairs. Uncle Pio becomes more afraid of love and pushes away from it, an even has a new meaning for it.

Description of Uncle Pio. He wrote letters like the other people that fell, and had connections to María and was the tutor of Camila. Uncle Pio can’t stick to one thing for a long time as he is constantly having new jobs or doing new things. He found himself in Peru after being kicked out of Spain.

After the death of Manuel, Esteban reunites with a Captain he once worked with. After lying that he was his twin brother, he tells the truth to the Captain and will join him to sail around the world. The next day he is more hesitant, but eventually decides to go. On his way to Lima he crossed and fell off the bridge while the Captain was in the river below.

Manuel and Esteban are twin brothers who are raised in a church, and later live with each other writing and translating plays and other entertainment. Manuel falls in love with Camila (actress from pt. 2 who humiliated María), who makes him write letters. After a awkward moment with Esteban and Camila, Manuel drops her to gain his brothers trust or smth. Later while he gets a infection in his leg, he dies in madness

María and Pepita travel to a church from Lima. On the way they cross the bridge, and while residing in the town they argue over sending a letter. It does not get sent and María claims she will begin again and become a different person. Two days later they die on the bridge.

Beginning with a description of the life of Doña María, she is illustrated as a character who obsesses over her daughter, as well as lonely. Parts of this book are hard to read so far, and it’s tough to get through these explanations.

beginning with explaining the life of the Doña María. She is a literary genius who’s life so far is outlined by her obsession with her daughter and loneliness. So far, this book is hard to read and i have to go back a couple of times to fully understand what i just read.

The intro or Part 1 was boring. It was, to sum it up, a big tap session that wasn’t needed. Yes, it was interesting about the book that the monk wrote; however i was so lost reading some of the paragraphs. Could’ve been shorter
