A bunch of people arrived from Petersburg including the troublemaker from before. The troublemaker basically drives out the captain who was taking an allowance meant for the captain’s sister while also beating her. Someone in the protagonist’s friend group punches the troublemaker in front of a room of high society folk because the troublemaker had a liaison with the man’s wife while away.
