i really like that the first introduction to gard is really from his perspective and also as he gets progressively more drunk and ready to die… very interesting first characterization and one that i feel gives me a strong sense of what to expect of him already. i also really liked his argument (confrontation?) with ted and his wife at the party - intense and mirrors the dread mounting with anderson
