This is my update for January 23. Katniss has a responsibility to protect her family. When her little sister was obligated to the hunger games, it was her task to go in for her. It wasn't a requirement for her to do this, but she is older and more advanced than her little sister is so she felt that she would be accountable for her sisters death. Only she would be able to function in the hunger games.

After the death of her father, Katniss had one priority. Protect her family. The death brought the family into bankruptcy. Katniss didn't have many friends and was a simple peasant in her community. Katniss thought of her cat as a nuisance. Katniss was dissatisfied when her sister was chosen to go to the hunger games. She made her little sister forfeit the spot to her.

The conflict problem of my book is Katniss is trying to protect her sister. From the beginning Katniss and her family have had problems such as losing their dad from coal mine. Katniss was sure that her little sister wasn't going to be picked for this years hunger games. She was wrong. Katniss went in for her sister and now she faces almost positive death. She is mid way through the hunger games and she is very smart

The book of the year for me would have to be The Hunger Games. Even though I'm not done I can already tell that it is full of action, suspense, and love. Katniss cares about other people more than she does herself. Katniss basically gave her life for her little sister. I think that Peeta is going to make a big influence on Katniss because I think they are falling in love.

Ethan Eddins favorite book to recommend was The Activist. Ethan liked The Activist because it was a learning experience for him. He has always liked learning about the law since he was little. He was even thinking about joining mock trial but his sports got in the way.

"Destroying things is much easier than making them.” This quote by Lance Erskine. District 12 is destroyed and poor and it would be almost impossible to re build it. This quote can be related to our real lives because after burning a bridge between a friend it is hard to gain that friendship back.
