this book opened up a new light to me about womanhood (breast implants, sperm banks, etc) that I don't usually think about. kawakami brings details about the female experience, difficulties, and joys so well that it just continuously makes you curious and empathize about how women suffers but also perseveres in society's expectations. (One thing that I don't like is that every chapter is sooo long)

thought dumping, but why is part 2 quite literally twice as long as the first part. also I wish there were more of midoriko's journal entries because I honestly enjoyed reading them [breasts (part 1) & eggs (part 2)]
