Ugh ... hopefully I'm past the middle third fluff that authors love to inflict upon us to inflate a 250 page story into a 400+ page book. Lotsa skimming to get through that. After the excellent action/suspense/drama plot of book #1 and the adequate action/suspense/drama plot of book #2, this series has gone off the cliff. I'll try to force myself to finish next week ... maybe.

Four books in,
still tryna work this out...

“Killian and the twins are technically brothers, even though they’re cousins. All of our dads are brothers, but Killian and the twins’ moms were identical twins. So they’re genetically more than half siblings and also cousins because they have two different sets of parents. And they were born less than two weeks apart, so they’ve pretty much grown up like triplets.”

Sofi I know what you mean! I’m honestly not very excited to read this one 🥴, but I’ll probably do it just to finish the series. Good luck getting through the rest of it!

Yeah, give it a 👀 but going in with low expectations will serve you well. The middle third is mostly the same ol', same ol' cat-n-mouse stuff between the two main characters that this author does ad nauseum. It gets very old, very fast. With this genre, I'm not nearly as interested/invested in the relationship/sex stuff as most of my GR friends and that's what most of the middle third is. It gets repetitive. Excellent set-up and, hopefully, the ending will be interesting and worth all the skimming.

I personally like a good balance between the romance and the plot, and the first book set the bar pretty high for the series for me. I’ll see how this one goes 🫣🤞🏻
