I do like it when a book gives me "refrigerator thoughts" this is what occurred to me
Was the Aunt nice or bitchy? When I first saw her, I thought she was nice but later she was bitch. But was that her true self or was it that snakey monster in the cloak?

I didn't think I would like Lee ,when we first met him in the tram , but I really do now. Tommy , the baby can not catch a break .

And then it got worse. Jeff Strand is very good at piling on the troubles to his poor characters. It is a wonder they don't chase him around in his nightmares

What killed Tommy's aunt? I can't imagine she would let the baby get too far from her especially a haunted forest. This is why I shouldn't let my reading pause for days at a time

Is this monster something made up by the author or in folk lore? A monster made of faces and skin that rips out the muscle of its victim.
