The story opens in Duskhold, a morally dark and visually gray world, where our FMC has spent a century in tortuous servitude, aging but never dying. She journeys to the Whispering Sea searching for the sweet release of death but instead emerges from the water into the realm of Cisqua, reborn in a new body with strange astral powers.
The writing is lyrical and beautifully descriptive. Definitely hooked already!
