Now why did it take the name “Snobbcraft” for me to realize these names were part of the joke?? 😭 I had a slight suspicion but I figured “Rev. Givens” for the thieving pastor and “Crookman Lying-in” for the baby converting hospital were plausible names.

I was curious how far Schuyler would go in satirizing historical Black organizations. I wasn’t expecting him to be this bold. I often see shallow critiques where these institutions are either wholly dismissed or comfortably condoned. Schuyler is different because he isn’t pointing to one villain or one flaw. He’s exposing an entire ecosystem of culpability. This is satire done well, no one’s off the hook.
