Just read the introduction. As is clear to anyone who read Dominion, Holland’s main thesis is that our modern moral and ethical framework does not come from some Enlightenment reaction to Christendom or even from the Reformation, but it has its roots in Christianity itself and the radical break it makes from pre-Christian society. I still don’t know whether I agree entirely. There’s a lot to discuss there.

I like that Holland seems to understand that Christianity is a real motivator for the actions of religious people and as such, not everything historical figures did can be explained by the desire for power or money. Will probably say this in a spicier manner in my final review.
