All I can say is I’m glad I wasn’t alive in the 1st century where you could be a human torch or thrown to the lions to entertain spectators just because you are a Christian. Or if your Roman husband is upset you gave birth to a girl and not a boy he can throw the baby in the streets and let it die by exposure. This book is good but very hard to read.
