The parallels between her life growing up and her relationship with Sean are loud. There’s a clear choice between whether she should stay with Sean or leave but what will she choose?? There’s a healing aspect to this relationship she’s in but it’s also holding her back and not allowing her to grow, but stay in what feels safe—not having to face her past and actually heal.

The torn feeling of being committed to someone but also having feelings for someone else…? Damn. Just damn. The TRIANGLE!!! Elliott vs. Sean—who will win??

Having your past come back is hard—especially if it or they were a large part. Trying to fish through those feelings and figure them out can be so hard—what’s a memory and what’s in the now—and can turn your life upside or at least create a bend in the road.

I feel and relate to Macy’s pain of loosing her mom. It seems like the friendship—that possibly turned into more—between Macy and Elliott was once very beautiful. There’s a somber vibe to this book, but there’s something about it that draws me in—making me not want to put it down, curious and intrigued to see what will happen next.

I completely understand the feelings Macy felt when her mom died, and carried with her since. I can tell there will be some very heartbreaking moments throughout this book.
