It has now being presented to me the rejection-retreat rule which is a form of the reciprocatory rule. It thereby states that if a smaller request follows a larger request it initiates a sense of compliance from the subject. This rule combines with perceptual concept as in such the structure of the request, The subject is made feel the second request is smaller.

The use of reciprocation in all aspects of life is truly eye opening to me. I had not until this point realised how often it was used and the genuine use of favours in society.

The use of “because” to make people more likely to complete a task for you or offer a favour had been a standout point to me. Perceptual concept although seemingly common sense is explained deeply and I now see applications for it in everyday life.
